Garrison lesérült:
The Panthers lost defenseman Jason Garrison to an undisclosed 'lower body' injury and replaced him – temporarily – with Samuelsson.
With Garrison questionable for Sunday's game on Long Island, the Panthers will recall Colby Robak from their AHL club in San Antonio.
Theodore visszatérhet ma:
Goalie Jose Theodore is expected to start Sunday against the Islanders after missing Florida's past eight games with a sore knee. Theodore, originally injured Dec. 31 against Montreal, has missed 13 of the past 15 games.
Theodore has started both games against the Islanders this season and got his first shutout as a member of the Panthers in his Florida debut on Oct. 8 in New York. He left the home game against the Islanders on Oct. 22 with the score tied at 2; Jacob Markstrom relieved him and earned the win.
“The knee is really good so now it's just about getting back out there,'' Theodore said. “I needed the rest because it didn't feel good. I have a couple practices under my belt so I'm ready. It was tough sitting out and watching. It's good to be back with the team.''
Akárcsak Skille:
Florida could also have winger Jack Skille back in the lineup Sunday as he traveled with the team and skated with goalie coach Robb Tallas before Saturday's game. “He looks strong,'' Tallas said.

Florida didn't do much offensively against the Devils on Saturday, but really didn't need to. Goals from Sean Bergenheim, Kris Versteeg and an empty netter from Mikael Samuelsson were enough as Scott Clemmensen made 27 saves against his former team to lift the Panthers to a 3-1 win at Prudential Center.

Ma aLA Kings ellenlépünk jégre.
Cikk az nhl.com-ról:
Kings' Sutter expects different look from Panthers
SUNRISE, Fla. — Kings coach Darryl Sutter began watching tape of the Dec. 1 game between Los Angeles and the Florida Panthers to get ready for the rematch Thursday at the BankAtlantic Center, but it didn’t take him long to realize it was useless.
“When I started doing it,” Sutter said Thursday morning in the midst of a six-game road trip, “I said, you know what, this is not going to serve much.”
The logo will be the same, but it’s a much different Florida team that the Kings will face this time. Eight players who will be in the lineup for the Panthers on Thursday night didn’t play in that 2-1 Kings victory in December, a list headed by leading scorer Kris Versteeg.
Versteeg was out after taking an elbow in the face two nights earlier in Carolina, and it was one of only two games he has missed all season.
But he’ll be there Thursday night playing between linemates Tomas Fleischmann and Stephen Weiss, and it’s a trio that has earned the respect of Sutter.
“The big thing with these guys and I know them good enough, their big line is the best line we’ve played on the trip,” Sutter said. “When you break it down, center-left-right, it’s the best line we’ve played. From an individual standpoint we’ve probably played guys you think are more top players than they are, but this is the first time we’ve played a line that when they’re spread out ... they’re a 50-goal line already. In this league, that’s pretty significant. And when you’ve got (Brian) Campbell at almost 40 points and you’ve got Jason (Garrison) with 13 goals, you’ve got your hands full. That’s how I look at it.”
Along with Versteeg, the other Panthers players who will suit up Thursday night after not playing in the Dec. 1 game are forwards Mikael Samuelsson, Marcel Goc, Krys Barch, Matt Bradley and John Madden, along with defensemen Keaton Ellerby and Tyson Strachan.
Four of the eight players who played on Dec. 1 but won’t be playing Thursday night are injured and the other four are in the minors.
Even though he wants a different outcome, Panthers coach Kevin Dineen gladly would take a similar effort from his team than what he got against the Kings two months ago.
Florida outshot Los Angeles 42-26 in that game, but lost on goals by Jack Johnson and Dustin Brown and strong goaltending by Jonathan Quick.
“I thought that was one of our strongest games,” Dineen said. “We played a very well-rounded game and we ended up with no points. Sometimes you walk out of those losses and you go, that was a hard-fought game and it doesn’t end up in your favor. That’s the kind of hockey we’re looking to get back to.”

Clemmensen is expected to be back in net Thursday against the visiting Los Angeles Kings, although Jose Theodore could start as he's been cleared to dress again.
With Theodore back, the Panthers sent Brian Foster back to AHL San Antonio. Theodore missed almost a month after being run over by teammate Dmitry Kulikov and Montreal's Mike Blunden during the second period of a game Dec. 31. Theodore returned on Jan. 18 and played against Colorado and Chicago before his knee acted up again.

“We got beat by the better team,'' Dineen said postgame. “They were the better team and we need to recognize that, fess up and know our game has to improve as we move forward. What are you going to do? I don't think anyone feels sorry for us. This is NHL hockey. It's the best league in the world. You have to understand that when you get a good tail kicking, you recognize it and get better for the next one.''

Jose Theodore skated today and according to head coach Kevin Dineen had a pretty good workout:
“He got a good skate in and that’s what we’re looking for is to make sure that he comes back and he’s feeling strong,” said Dineen. “It’s a day-to-day injury right now so we’ll see how he reacts from today’s workout and I’ll access his availability for us tomorrow night.”
Theodore is traveling with the team to Washington.

“There were a million thoughts going through my head,'' Foster said. “I was nervous, excited. I can't really explain it. I was nervous when he told me, but then you skate out there and it all goes away. It becomes natural. You could see the way the game was going. If it kept up, you have to make a change. I was preparing myself mentally to go out there and do the job.''

Dineen then brought in the now 25-year-old Foster. With the Panthers down two, Clemmensen returned.
“We were down two with 20 minutes to go,'' said Clemmensen, who stopped all seven shots faced in the third. “For me, I just wanted to shut the door and let the team do the rest. Two goals isn't something you can't come back from.''
Said Dineen: “I wanted to give him a breather. My full intention was to bring him back. There may have been one he wanted back but there were breakdowns. We felt we could come back and push and I think, for the most part, we did.''
Csak kicsit pihentetni akarta.
Ha mindenki egészséges, kapusposzton nagyon jók leszünk! Legalábbis szerintem.

Foster's NHL debut didn't last long as he was in net for under five minutes and faced just one shot. For Foster, who was called up from AHL San Antonio last week, it was fine.
“Just to get the nerves out, even though it wasn't long,'' Foster said. “I'm not disappointed, I'm just happy to be here. Whatever I have to do, I will. I'll go with whatever they tell me. I'm just trying to get better every day''

The Panthers placed forwards Jack Skille and Marco Sturm back on the injured list Friday not long after the two returned to the lineup after long absences.
Sturm missed 14 games after suffering a concussion but played Wednesday against the Capitals. Sturm is thought to have a groin injury and coach Kevin Dineen said he'll be evaluated next week.
Skille missed 13 games with a shoulder injury but played in back-to-back games Jan. 20-21. He was put on the injured list retroactive to Jan. 22.
“I think I may have rushed it,'' Skille said, adding he is aiming to return at the end of next week. “I'm going to do this smart and take my time, get it as healthy as I can. Once the trainers say I'm good, I'll be back.''

Theodore is again hampered by a knee injury. Florida recalled Brian Foster from AHL San Antonio to replace Theodore on the roster and back up Clemmensen. If Theodore isn't ready to go by this weekend when Florida plays back-to-back games against Winnipeg and Tampa Bay, Foster could make his NHL debut.

Scottie valszeg nem játszik már ebben a szezonban.
The Panthers lost winger Scottie Upshall for approximately four to six weeks as the right winger is scheduled for sports hernia surgery on Thursday. Upshall was hurt Nov. 10 and worked to get back into the lineup without the surgery.
Upshall returned on Jan. 20 in Chicago and also played last week against Philadelphia. If Upshall is to miss the rest of the season – as is very possible – he will have scored a goal with two assists in 17 games after signing a four-year deal worth $3.5 million per season (second highest paid forward on team) on July 1.
Upshall will have the surgery Thursday in Philadelphia by noted sports hernia specialist Dr. William Meyers. Dineen missed nine weeks when Meyers performed the surgery on him back in the day. Dineen says he was the first NHL player Meyer performed the operation on.
